Confirmation Students Help Out at Midland Beach
Our confirmation students spent a day at Midland Beach on Monday mowing, weed-whacking, and cleaning up around homes affected by Hurricane Sandy. Yes, the relief effort is still going on! Samantha Christian, the Disaster Relief Coordinator for Staten Island helped coordinate our mission, and Tom Basile (known to us as "Tom the Baptist") organized our work. If you are interested in helping out on a day off, please contact Pastor Matt by clicking here.
Record Turnout at Summer Barbecue
It was wonderful to see so many friends turn out at the Quick's annual barbecue on August 9th. Lots of food/lots of fun/lots of fellowship. Thank you, Shannon and Ken, for your gracious hospitality!
BRAND NEW: MEN'S FELLOWSHIP GROUP
Beginning September 5th, a Men's Fellowship Group we begin meeting at Bethel between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturdays. We will break bread (and drink coffee) together, share, pray, and do a little work around the church. Hope you can join us!
Great Showing at Staten Island Yankees Game!
It was a beautiful night at the ballpark on Saturday as folks from Bethel cheered on the Staten Island Yankees! Thanks, Gary and Arlene, for making the arrangements!
Family Camping Trip Is Fun for All
Nine of us enjoyed an overnight adventure at Kittatinny Valley State Park in New Jersey, telling goofy ghost stories, watching planes take off and land, hiking through the woods, and enjoying the fresh air. Thank you, Ken, for making the arrangements. See more pictures at our photo gallery.
Thank you, all who helped make the Mountains of Hope for Haiti mission a resounding success. The Methodist School in Furcy has been repainted, and its desks and chalkboards repaired. We served two community meals, hosted VBS, and sponsored a Game Day. Check out our gallery for more pictures from the mission trip!
