Cranberry Festival 2014
Bethel will salute that wonderful fall fruit, the cranberry at its annual CRANBERRY FESTIVAL to be held on Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th. The men and women of the church are preparing numerous favorite recipes that are in one way or another inspired by this tasty little berry. An EXTENSIVE BAKE TABLE will include apple cranberry pies, cranberry breads, cranberry coffee cakes, cranberry muffins, cranberry sauces, cranberry cobbler and much more. Farm fresh cranberries will be available for purchase by the pound. In addition to the featured cranberry items, a delicious assortment of other fine foods will be available at the festival. There will also be a fine assortment of crafts and gift items as well as a silent auction featuring themed gift baskets. On Friday evening a TURKEY DINNER for $12 per person ($10 for children) will be served at 4:30 pm, 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The dinner will feature turkey breast, mashed potatoes, vegetable, fresh rolls, gravy, and of course, homemade cranberry sauce. On Saturday BREAKFAST will be served all morning beginning at 8:00am and ending at 11:00 am. Among the breakfast choices will be cranberry pancakes and cranberry syrup. Starting at 12:30 pm the kitchen will be open for LUNCH. Homemade soups and hot turkey sandwiches will highlight the menu. Coffee is free throughout both days of the festival. An OUTDOOR FLEA MARKET will take place during the festival on Saturday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. The festival will be open on Friday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. and on Saturday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm, and admission is free. The church is located at 7033 Amboy Road (between Page Ave and Bethel Ave) in Tottenville. For more information call the church at 718-984-1277.
